Mini - Junior ClubThe mini and junior club plays or trains every Sunday morning from September to May, with children starting from the age of six and ranging up to eighteen. Mini Rugby (Under 7 to Under 12)The mini section of the club, for players between six and twelve (on the 1st September) are based at the Bicester Sports Association Ground at Akeman Street, Chesterton (opposite the Golf Club) The fun starts at 10.30 AM and normally finishes at noon. Refreshments are available during and after training sessions , with a free hot dog provided for all players on match weekends. Parents are able to relax in the Bar. Everyone has a good time! The coaching is carried out by Rugby Football Union (RFU) trained volunteers all of whom are CRB checked. The Club strives to maintain a minimum coach to player ratio of 1:10 although in the lower age groups the ratio of coaches to children is higher than in the older age groups. Feel free to come along to any home training session and join in. There is no fee or obligation to continue. If bitten by the bug and participation in a game is your goal, you must be registered with the Club and RFU. This ensures that you are insured. Match shirts are provided by the club for all players. Other kit, from club shorts and socks to training and leisure wear, and equipment can be purchased from the club shop (available at most home fixtures and training weekends) although this is not compulsory. Junior Rugby (Under 13 to Under 18)The Junior section of the club, for players between thirteen and eighteen (on the 1st September) are based at the Bicester Rugby Club ground, at Oxford Road, Bicester. The Junior sides usually hold mid week training sessions on either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings. Junior fixtures are held on Sundays, kicking off at 10.30. Once again the players are provided with a post match meal and parents are able to relax after the game in the club bar. RegistrationsThe 2007 - 8 season club registration form is now available here. All new players and players transferring from other clubs must complete this form and the RFU registration form available from the Club Membership Secretary or by clicking here. All Under 13 players must re register with the RFU by completing the RFU registration form. Please note that the RFU registration requires passport photographs to be provided. Players who are not a club member and registered with the RFU will not be considered available for competitive fixtures. Please hand forms, photos and money/cheques to your team manager or lead coach. Note:This form should only be used to register players that are new to the club. For players that are re-registering from last season, pre-prepared forms will be available at the Clubhouse during any Sunday morning training sessions which will need to be checked and signed to confirm that contact details etc. are still correct. |
